ACCC releases small business report

Small businesses complained the most about consumer protection-related issues such as misleading conduct and false representations in the second half of 2012, a new study has found.

The latest small business report from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Small Business in Focus, reveals that 389 small business complaints were made regarding misleading conduct and false representation of products/services, while 135 complaints were made regarding consumer guarantees.

The report is part of the ACCC's campaign to provide practical tips and advice to small business owners, as well as their obligations under competition and consumer laws.
